"It is yet another beautiful morning
by the lake," grins Dr. Moanda,
in the late 1800s,
who is a Dentist trained in Europe and is currently practicing
in Maryland at his lake front
office on the eastern bank of the Susquehanna River,
right across from Weise Island.
But he is also quite the polymath, as he has a productive farm outback,
and he maintains hundreds of horses for other farmers in the area,
among other things.
He not only fits and puts shoes on those
spectacular creatures,
he makes the shoes for them himself, by heating up the metal
and pouring it into molds
and shaping the metal with
the latest
nanotechnology!
At that time, in the distance, Dr. Jules Moanda hears
a loud and continuing rumbling noise,
which can only mean...
And, also, at the same time, Sheriff Bart,
arrives at the Dentist's office and greets,
"Hello, Dr. Moanda, Top of the Day!"
"Morning, my good Sheriff!...I hope all is well
with the wife and kids," smiles the Doc.
Sheriff Bart, not one to beat around the bush, gets right to
the point and asks the Dentist, "A lot of
the farmers are saying that their horses are going missing...
...Did you just make a harvest?"
"Yes, Sir, Sheriff,
I cut some and put it in piles the day before yesterday!
And I've been hearing those beautiful horses coming all day long!...
...I guess they can tell from miles around
when my 'Sweet Hay' is
is ripe for consumption!"
"I knew it," grins the Sheriff...
...for the last several years, there ain't no horse thieves,
they're just running to your farm for the good food, care, and treatment!"
"The other farmers," adds the Dentist, "also don't mind if I
shoe some of their horses and check their mouths
every now and then, when they need it!...Oh...
one more thing, Sheriff, since you're here, would you
like to take a bale or two of the hay for your steeds?"
"Now, you know I can't turn that down," laughs the Sheriff...
"Well, those horses out there can eat for free as much as
they want, and after that, I'll shoo them all back home...
"Like usual," says the Sheriff.
"Like usual," returns
the Dentist.
Now, as they walk over to get two bales of Sweet Hay,
the Sheriff says, "I'd like to give you a message...
...a lot of the townsfolk are asking if you might be interested
in serving in our local government, you being so important
to our community!"
Dr. Moanda responds,
"Well...we both know that I am a very busy Man...
...but...for my community
and for my country...
I'll give it...
a real good thought!"
