You know...I have had it up to here!
I am now...
...going to be...
the change that I want to see!
It seems sometimes that Humanity is 'Skating on Thin Ice!'
I am seeing political discourse
on all sides
becoming hyper-polarized
with a fanaticism that is
not healthy!...And growing
millions of people all over the World
are suffering from
housing,
clean air,
clean water,
money,
job,
and, of course,
food insecurities...all at the same time!
So, this Thanksgiving,
I won't be
with some friends, who
eat a lot anyway...cramming
our faces with
endless portions of food...
...I will alternatively choose to help others in need.
On Thanksgiving Thursday,
I will help out at a Food Bank,
passing out meals
and treats!....Ever since COVID hit, I've seen long lines of cars,
and long lines of people,
waiting even in the snow
to get those needed resources.
The next day, Friday, I think I'll work at a soup kitchen
cooking delicious
meals nonstop!...
...Once the tasty word gets out
though,
there may be a rush to get in
and get fed!
On Saturday, at a different location, I'll actually load up plates
to those who are in line...
Thanksgiving Sunday, and, yes,
days after that,
I will share,
without hesitation, some of the monetary blessings
that I have received.
And I must say that I won't judge
what the recipients spend that money on!
I am going to do this and more,
and not expect praise and thank yous,
and I'll expect nothing in return.
Plus I won't write this off on my Taxes!...
But I do know how Karma works,
and I pledge
to do
what I can
to make this World a Better Place!
